Presenter: Shaloni Naik, technology specialist teacher at Ashdale Secondary College

In this half day workshop participants will look at ways to use Adobe tools the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.

The presenter, Shaloni Niak, will take participants through two Adobe software packages, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, with an emphasis on how to design assessment tasks,  keeping the opportunities that the software offers in mind.

In this workshop participants may use their own laptops with pre-installed Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, or they may use a computer in the lab.

Please note:

1. Numbers in this workshop are limited and a URL  for bookings will be made available to REGISTERED Conference delegates a week before the workshop.

2. There will be no opportunity for participants to download and install software once they arrive at Penrhos College. All downloading of software must be done before arriving at the Conference venue.

About the Presenter:

Shaloni Naik is a technology specialist teacher at Ashdale Secondary College in Perth, Western Australia. She also heads the Specialist Technology Science Program for gifted and talented students and plays a key role in curriculum design, management, and policy formulation. Her passion is enhancing student outcomes through employing new teaching practices and designing innovative curriculums.

Shaloni has created and taught various classes using Adobe software, and has been involved in research projects with Edith Cowan University. She has presented at Edith Cowan University seminars, including one called “Drivers of Transformation Teaching,” where she spoke about creating challenge-based learning environments through a backward design process.

Shaloni Naik believes in enhancing other teachers’ professional skills through employing effective development strategies, with a key focus on integration of ICT across all learning areas.
