President and ACCE Board Member for WA
Courtney Weaver is a Digital Technologies and Music teacher with a rich background in IT consultancy, having spent 15 years as a developer, project manager, and business analyst before transitioning into education. She is dedicated to enhancing digital literacy and supporting educators through professional learning initiatives.
Vice President
Jonathan is passionate about innovation in computer education and supporting teachers with practical, effective classroom resources. He is particularly interested in helping ECAWA grow as a hub for teaching tools and resources across Digital Technologies, Applied Information Technology, and Computer Science. Jonathan is committed to ensuring member feedback is reflected in the association’s work and is keen to support initiatives that strengthen engagement and representation within the computing education community.
Secretary
Michelle Chomiak is a Digital Technologies and Computer Science educator at an Independent K-12 school in Perth, with over 15 years of prior experience in the IT industry as a programmer and project manager. A passionate advocate for girls in STEM, she mentors with the Girls Programming Network, and was named the 2024 Australian Secondary School Teacher of the Year (Non-Government).

Tanya Godwich is a Digital Technologies and AIT educator with the Department of Education at a Secondary College in Perth. She brings a strong commitment to advancing digital literacy and supporting innovative teaching practices across Western Australian schools.
Primary Coordinator
Ian Wilson is the Digital Technologies Specialist and STEM Leader at a Department of Education primary school, where he leads innovative Yr 1–6 programs linking coding, robotics, sustainability and Aboriginal knowledges through Two-Way Science and Einstein-First. His work integrates digital literacy and STEM across the curriculum through authentic, real-world projects that connect cross-curricular learning with science and technology.
Secondary Coordinator
Rachel Farnay is Teacher in Charge – ICT and Approved Specialist Program at a Department of Education secondary college in Perth, where she teaches Digital Technologies, AIT and Design. She is a Level 3 Classroom Teacher, whose students have won competitions for their innovative use of STEM. She is the founder of the College’s recycling and intergenerational programs, and has just completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Assessment at University of New South Wales.
Tertiary Coordinator – Computer Science
Tim is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at The University of Western Australia and President of the South Pacific Competitive Programming Association (SPCPA). With more than 25 years of experience teaching computer science, he is passionate about software development, computational thinking, and algorithms education. Tim has contributed to a range of outreach initiatives, including CoderDojo, and through SPCPA helps coordinate programming contests and enrichment opportunities for students across Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. He is committed to creating and sharing opportunities that support both teachers and students in computer science education.
Tertiary Coordinator – Initial Teacher Education
Krysia is a Lead Digital Technologies teacher at Byford Secondary College with a strong focus on digital innovation and inclusive STEM education. She supports teacher development through mentoring and collaboration within the school’s Teaching and Learning PLC, with a particular interest in effective classroom practice and emerging technologies. Krysia coordinates the school’s eSports League, leads initiatives around the safe and ethical use of Generative AI, and manages Geospatial Drone Student Workshops in partnership with SheMaps and BHP. She is currently pursuing Level 3 Classroom Teacher status and completing a Master of Education (Management and Leadership) at the University of Notre Dame, researching the use of Generative AI to support neurodivergent learners.

Andrew Grigg is an ICT Technology Integrator responsible for driving technology strategy and implementation across a K–12 independent school. With a strong belief that empowered teachers are central to effective digital learning, he focuses on building staff capability through training, coaching, and ongoing support. His recent work includes contributing to a large‑scale digital initiative supporting regional schools in Western and South Australia.
Regional Representative
Zina Cordery is a Lecturer in the School of Education at Edith Cowan University, where she coordinates the Digital Technologies specialisation for secondary education and researches the integration of immersive technologies like VR and AR in teaching and learning. An active member of the editorial board of the Australian Educational Computing Journal, she is also pursuing a PhD focused on the use of virtual reality in education.

Karina Price is a Science Communicator and the current Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for Computing and Security sciences at Edith Cowan University (ECU). She leads innovative outreach initiatives that inspire students to explore skills and careers in computer science, cyber security and security sciences. She was also the founder of the award-winning Virtual Plant Cell.

Tracy Grant has been a secondary computing teacher since 2005. A dedicated and passionate educator, she thrives on embracing new technology and fostering creativity in the classroom. As her school’s AI Working Group Coordinator, she is an avid supporter of innovative teaching practices and empowering students to become confident, responsible users of technology.

Antony is a Secondary teacher at an AISWA school in the southern suburbs. He is also the Chair of the Computer Science Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) and is passionate about supporting Computer Science education in Western Australia. Through his role with the CAC, he works closely with SCSA and aims to strengthen collaboration and communication between curriculum stakeholders and ECAWA. Antony is committed to supporting teachers and contributing to the continued growth of Computer Science education across the state.

Destiny is passionate about supporting teachers to build confidence and capability in Digital Technologies education. Previously the Digital Technologies Coach at a Department of Education Primary School, she led whole-school approaches to technology integration, developed curriculum scope and sequence documents, and worked closely with DigiTech Schools and Department of Education networks. As co-leader of the Morley Schools Network for Digital Technologies, Destiny has helped foster collaboration and deliver targeted professional learning for educators. She is particularly interested in increasing teacher engagement through innovative approaches such as online professional learning, podcasts, social media, and classroom showcase events.

Brittni Balogh is the Digital Technologies Teacher-in-Charge at Joseph Banks Secondary College and a Secondary educator with the Western Australian Department of Education. With experience across both primary and secondary education, she is committed to supporting high-quality Digital Technologies education and building teacher capability through professional learning initiatives, including coordinating state-wide DigiMeet events. Brittni is passionate about empowering students and educators to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Immediate Past President
Dr David Cook is a lecturer and researcher in the School of Science at Edith Cowan University, specialising in cybersecurity, e-governance, and human-computer interaction. As a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society and a mentor to award-winning student projects like “Water Twins,” he exemplifies leadership in fostering innovation and digital inclusion in education.
