A Masterclass
This long Masterclass will give participants the chance to explore developing a user interface for a SQLite database using the Bottle web framework.
This is an easy to use framework that allows the development of small web apps that will easily run on a local machine with the built in development web server.
Although a graphical user interface is not required by the ATAR syllabus, it does make for more engaging student projects and allows them to show off their work to others!
We will start by building a simple web app before looking at how we can incorporate a SQLite database to build the content of our pages. Later, we will discuss how this can be incorporated into an engaging open ended project for students to help them consolidate their understanding of database development.
Please note that this presentation will be quite hands-on to allow participants to explore using various tools, so may not be suitable for online streaming.
