A Morning Masterclass (half day)

This workshop will offer an introduction to the text-based programming language, Python.
You will learn the basics of Python, how to get started, the essentials of programming in Python and the courses on offer through Grok Learning.

Objectives:
Participants will:
- gain an understanding of the basics of Python, how to read and write the code, and its application within the Digital Technologies Curriculum
- gain hands on experience with using Grok Learning to facilitate the learning of Python for both students and teachers
- develop a unit of work on text-based programming using Python that addresses Algorithms and Digital Implementation within the Digital Technologies Curriculum.

Requirements:
Participants are expected to bring and use their own computer or iPad in this masterclass. The presenter notes that some previous participants have preferred a computer over an iPad when using Grok Learning.
WiFi access will be provided at the venue.

Anyone with an interest in Python, the Digital Technologies or Grok Learning

About the Presenter:
Mitchell Durward is currently a Classroom Teacher at Bunbury Primary School. Mitchell has experience as a Digital Technologies Specialist Teacher in Kalgoorlie. He is a presenter of the Teachers Can Code modules and has experience across both primary and secondary schools settings.
