A Morning MasterclassDarren Kay

Darren Kay is pleased to offer training from two modules of the TCC initiative to Public and Independent Schools, at the ECAWA 2019 Carnival of Computing, in Albany.

The first session will be on Data Representation and Abstraction, and the second session on Implementation. Both sessions are suited to all Digital Technology Teachers (Primary and Secondary).

In the Data Representation and Abstraction module, participants will learn

  1. What are data representation and abstraction?
  2. How teachers teach representations every day.
  3. How we can represent data with whole numbers and binary
  4. How to unpack the data representation thread of curriculum content descriptions
  5. We will also demonstrate a range of practical classroom activities.

Requirements:
Attendees are expected to bring along a Laptop (preferred) or Tablet computer

*Please note that if you book tickets for both the Morning Masterclass and the Afternoon Masterclass your lunch will be provided.

Parking is available at the rear of the school near the Multi-Purpose Sport Centre. please sign-in at the Administration building as soon as you arrive.

About the Presenter:
Darren Kay is a Lead Teacher from the Teachers Can Code (TCC) professional learning program; a Department of Education initiative to support the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.  The program develops teachers’ capacity to integrate Digital Technologies, including coding, into teaching and learning program

Darren is based at Denmark District High School.
