Developing a STEAM Scope and Sequence for Years 1 to 6 – Challenges, opportunities and everything in between …

This presentation will showcase a range of learning sequences which have been developed to engage, inspire and challenge in a primary school setting. It will demonstrate the ways in which our young learners have begun to approach all things STEAM with the precept of problems being ‘opportunities for design in disguise’.

This presentation will explore the opportunities which have arisen in creating a scope and sequence which takes into account context, prior knowledge, student skillsets and available resources.

It will examine the challenges of differentiation and assessment.

It will allude to the flow of critical thinking when post-programming and considering the progress being made towards developing a community of confident young innovators.

Intended Audience:

Those interested in STEM, General Primary, Junior Primary, Middle / Upper Primary
