The Crazy Ideas College (CIC) is excited to invite secondary schools from all across the country to join Australia’s Crazy Good Tech Challenge with IBM SkillsBuild. The Challenge is designed for Year 8 – 10 students and multiple year levels can participate. All participating students will gain access to IBM SkillsBuild, a digital learning and micro credentials platform. There is no cost for participating.
The Crazy Good Tech Challenge unlocks the agency and ingenuity of young people and activates their voice around tech issues that matter. Check out this 1-minute video highlighting how the Challenge works. This flyer gives a summary of the event.
Working in small teams, students will be guided through a 4-step recipe for generating bold and inspired ideas around these four themes:
- Cyber Safe – Cyber Smart Citizens
- Learning in the age of AI
- Gearing up for the Future World
- Healthy Habits for Gamers and Techies
Each team will develop and submit an idea into the national challenge and four winning ideas will be brought to life with support from IBM SkillsBuild and CIC. The Challenge is high energy, fast paced and can fit neatly into a one day event or a school timetable. It will take place over the first four weeks of Term 3.
CIC will come to schools and lead the Challenge in a one day event. We provide all resources, templates and support for students to successfully complete the process. Alternatively, CIC can provide educators with all the required learning resources, including how-to videos and activity templates, for schools that would like to run this event themselves. The challenge can be completed within four periods with a minimal load on educators.
The next step in coming on board the Challenge is to contact conce@crazyideascollege.com / 0438311815 to discuss the opportunity in more detail and to work out what would best suit the needs of your young people.
