Presented by:
Mr Paul Fuller
.The inclusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a general capability in the Australian Curriculum is recognition that ICT is no longer the sole domain of specialist teachers. There is now an expectation that ICT will be utilized by all teachers across all areas of the curriculum wherever and whenever this will add value to the learning process.
This presentation will examine the five elements of the ICT capability and highlight ways that these can be addressed in the classroom. It will also explore the distinct (but complementary) relationship between the ICT capability and the Technologies curriculum.
Most importantly, the session will describe strategies for building the capacity of teachers so that they can help realise the vision of students using ICT ethically and creatively across all learning areas.
