An Afternoon Masterclass – now closed
Makey-Makey – and Scratch
In this hands on workshop you will have the opportunity to create, program and explore with the Makey Makey Invention kit.
You will create game controllers using MakeyMakey, cardboard and other recycled material and turn everyday objects into touchpads that when combined with online Scratch Programs may become art, engineering or anything with a STEM or Curriculum Connection.
You will Invent and Learn.
*Please note that this Masterclass is available as an “Afternoon Only” ticket or as part of the “Full Day Friday” ticket. Lunch will be provided for those who choose the “Full Day Friday” ticket.

About the Presenters:
Geoff Chambers is an educator with over 20 years teaching experience in schools from Esperance to the Pilbara, Christmas Island and now back in his hometown of Geraldton.
For the past 11 years Geoff has been a specialist teacher in Digital Technologies and Lead Teacher for Technologies, STEM/STEAM, TDS STEM and Innovative partnerships. He is a Teachers Can Code Lead Teacher with a passion for enabling his students to succeed in an ever changing world. As a Microsoft Peer Coach he has completed Microsoft 21CLD training as part of his association with Microsoft Partners in Learning.
Geoff loves the opportunities that Maker Space areas can offer to students both Primary and Secondary. Integration is the key to success and the Technologies area is one that can be purposefully integrated into many teaching programs.
