Celebrating the Life of Paul Dench

Hello ECAWA Members,

Earlier this year I advised you that our valued friend and Life Member of ECAWA, Mr Paul Dench, had passed away peacefully at the age of 86.

In June this year it was not possible to get together and celebrate Paul’s wonderful life, however now things are more settled, Paul’s family have invited his friends and colleagues from ECAWA to join them at afternoon tea on Saturday Dec 5th at 3.00pm.

If you would like to take this opportunity to remember Paul and celebrate his life, please contact please contact joan@dench.net to let her know that you will be there, and for details of the address.

If you have not already done so, perhaps read through some of the comments left the bottom of the page at https://ecawa.wa.edu.au/2020/07/09/remembering-paul-dench/

Paul’s pioneering work in computing education in WA has brought benefits to generations of students.

Paul, who was the engineer at the Carnarvon Tracking Station, was co-author with the late Alison Gregg, of Carnarvon and Apollo: one giant leap for a small Australian town, published in 2010.
