Beyond Theory: Practical Teaching of the new Privacy and Security Curriculum Concept 2026
This session gives you concrete lesson ideas, practical assessment approaches, and a clear progression map for teaching the new privacy and security content in the 2026 WA Digital Technologies curriculum.
Across early years to Year 10, expectations have shifted. Students move from basic ideas about personal information and safe sharing, to managing accounts securely, understanding digital footprints, and eventually grappling with networks, encryption, cyber threats, and legal and ethical responsibilities.
We will step through what that progression actually looks like in classrooms. You will see age-appropriate examples, common misconceptions to watch for, and what strong evidence of understanding looks like at different year levels. The focus is clarity and coherence so you can teach privacy and security as a deliberate, building sequence rather than a disconnected set of lessons.
Attendees will hear from both presenters, before splitting into separate rooms for primary and secondary contexts.
