Getting started with the DOE STEM kits – integrating Digital Technologies across the curriculum.

In 2017 the WA DOE sent every primary school in the state a ‘STEM’ kit to introduce schools to digital technology devices. In this presentation Natalie will introduce you to theses devices and show you way to integrate them in to STEM learning and across other curriculum areas.

This presentation will be offered in Face to Face mode only. It will not be offered online.

About the Presenter:

Natalie King is a Year Two Teacher and Technologies Leader at Brookman Primary School in Langford, Western Australia.

A highly experienced Teacher, Natalie has taught in a range of schools in both country and city locations around Western Australia and the United Kingdom.

In 2017 her passion for integrating Digital Technology across the curriculum led her to working with DATACOM and Curtin University, leading a local network of ten schools on their journey to understand the Australian Curriculum’s new Digital Technologies Scope and Sequence, it’s implementation and how to support their staffs’ professional learning.

Natalie has worked as a Digital Technologies Specialist Teacher, collaboratively planning and mentoring teachers to build capacity in their own classroom.

Since 2016 she has been an integral part of the school’s Curriculum Team, working with the Innovation Unit and the Department of Education State-wide Services to introduce and finally embed, STEM practices into cross-curricular teaching and learning practices from Kindergarten to Year 6.
