About Us
The Educational Computing Association of Western Australia (ECAWA) is a thriving, volunteer-run professional association that has supported educators for over 40 years. We are dedicated to advancing the effective, innovative, and inclusive use of digital technologies in teaching and learning across Western Australia.
ECAWA brings together educators from all sectors—primary, secondary, and tertiary—as well as education support staff, curriculum leaders, and industry professionals. We support all educators working with the Western Australian Curriculum, including the P–10 Digital Technologies subject, the ICT Capability across all learning areas, and the senior secondary courses: Applied Information Technology and Computer Science.
Our members are part of a vibrant, creative network with close ties to national and international groups. As a founding member of the Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE), ECAWA maintains strong connections with professional associations across Australia and abroad, giving our members access to support and resources of national and international standard.
We provide high-quality professional learning opportunities aligned to the digital technologies curriculum, including workshops, webinars, and conferences. These events regularly focus on areas such as coding, robotics, virtual reality, design, and computational thinking, helping educators prepare students for a digital future.
Key activities include:
-
Annual State Conference – A highlight of the WA education calendar, featuring local and global experts.
-
Advocacy and Representation – Supporting members through curriculum input and educational policy.
-
Community and Mentorship – A place for educators to connect, grow, and share best practice.
Whether you’re just starting your digital journey or leading innovation in your school, ECAWA is here to support you every step of the way.
