#CodeLikeAGirl – Murdoch University, Wesfarmers and Coderdojo After School Club

Murdoch University, in partnership with Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers and the Fogarty Foundation, are delighted to be launching a new and exciting FREE Female Coderdojo after school club.

The club is open for students in years 8-11.

Coderdojo is about encouraging creativity and having fun in a relaxed, social environment.  The clubs are designed to be self-led by the students, often project based, and are open for the students to explore new ideas and concepts in computer coding.

Female ‘Champions’,  such as Anna and Maddie, students from Murdoch University, and industry experts from Wesfarmers, will be on-hand each week to support the students to learn how to develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore how coding is a force for change in the world.  All Champions hold a current working with children card.

Please download the poster and application for any students that you feel will benefit from this experience.

The club is located at Murdoch University’s South Street Campus for eight weeks starting Tuesday, 23rd of August. 2016.  The after school program will run between 15.30 and 17.30 each week.

We would appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your members.

We ask that all interested students submit their completed application form to Alexis Westerside, awesterside@escef.com.au no later than Friday 19th August.

Places are limited so early applications will be appreciated.
