Location Based Mobile Learning

Presenter: Susan Nicholson

Imagine walking through the dense scrub and your mobile phone springs to life, giving you details of the flower you have just passed, or the bird nesting in the nearby tree that you have not even noticed. Pointing your phone at a sign strategically placed brings a 3D image of what took place there 100 years ago.

Imagine that this was developed by your students, for your students.

Students using their imagination to develop stories or research past events to produce material that will allow others to engage in this experience firsthand.

In this presentation Susan Nicholson hopes to highlight several applications that are available today that will engage students, enabling them to develop scenarios and produce meaningful experiences for others to share and learn from.

Intended Audience: All those concerned with Primary, Middle School, Secondary education
